Crypto ransomware gang Qilin has reportedly hacked Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stealing data including private correspondence and personal information.

Crypto Ransomware Gang Qilin은 우크라이나 외무부를 해킹하여 사적 서신 및 개인 정보를 포함한 데이터를 훔쳤다.

The assertion comes from cybersecurity analyst Dominic Alvieri, who says the department was hacked earlier today, 10 August.

이 주장은 사이버 보안 분석가 인 Dominic Alvieri에서 나온다.

In a statement shared by Alvieri, Qilin claims it’s in possession of data stolen from the ministry, and that some of it has been sold. According to the gang, the stolen data includes “private correspondence, personal information, decrees etc.”

Qilin은 Alvieri가 공유 한 진술에서 그것이 사역에서 도난당한 데이터를 소유하고 있으며 그 중 일부는 판매되었다고 주장합니다. 갱단에 따르면 도난당한 데이터에는 "개인 서신, 개인 정보, 법령 등"이 포함됩니다.

The ministry has yet to confirm the hack.

The report from Alvieri comes after the US announced it was freezing intelligence sharing with Kyiv, following a breakdown in relations between the Trump administration and Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The move will also see the US revoke the temporary legal status of 240,000 Ukrainian refugees, according to Reuters, although the plans were drafted before the controversial interview between Trump and Zelenskyy.

Qilin is a russian-speaking crypto ransomware gang that runs a ransomware-as-a-service operation, according to a 2024 report from the Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center. The group's preferred cryptocurrencies for extortion are bitcoin and monero.

Qilin은 보건 부문 사이버 보안 조정 센터 (Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center)의 2024 보고서에 따르면 랜섬웨어로 서비스로 운영되는 러시아어 암호 랜섬웨어 갱입니다. 강탈에 대한 그룹이 선호하는 암호 화폐는 Bitcoin과 Monero입니다.

The gang launched in July 2022 under the name "Agenda" before rebranding to Qilin a few months later. It's also believed to be behind a hack on London hospitals that caused major disruption.
