A limited-edition 50p coin to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the UK Pride movement was released by The Royal Mint last year.

It was designed by east London artist and activist Dominique Holmes and marked the first time the UK’s LGBTQ+ community was recognised on an official coin.

The design included the historic Pride progression flag and inscribed with Pride in London’s values of protest, visibility, unity, and equality in rainbows.

The 50p coins were available to buy in a range of metals but did not enter general circulation.
