According to the official tweet by TRAC, the platform facilitates efficient data sharing across various entities within a multi-chain ecosystem. Developed by Trace Labs, the underlying protocol of OriginTrail was introduced in 2018 on Ethereum as the first-ever “Decentralized Knowledge Graph”. This blockchain-based protocol is pivotal in promoting multi-chain interoperability among participants in the data-sharing ecosystem. It enables users to store, access shared and discoverable data within the network.

Currently, OriginTrail is interoperable with Ethereum, Polygon, and Gnosis Chain. The native token of OriginTrail, fundamentally an ERC-20 cryptocurrency, can be traded with other cryptocurrencies on the Ethereum platform. After the Ethereum Merge, transactions involving the token are validated using the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, reinforcing the token's credibility and security within the ecosystem.

Actuellement, OriginTrail est interopérable avec Ethereum, Polygon et Gnosis Chain. Le jeton natif d’OriginTrail, fondamentalement une crypto-monnaie ERC-20, peut être échangé avec d’autres crypto-monnaies sur la plateforme Ethereum. Après la fusion Ethereum, les transactions impliquant le jeton sont validées à l'aide du mécanisme de consensus Proof-of-Stake (PoS), renforçant la crédibilité et la sécurité du jeton au sein de l'écosystème.
