Squid Game Season 2 Cast: Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon, Jeon Seok-ho, Gong Yoo

While a successful actor in his native South Korea prior to Squid Game, Lee Jung-jae's international appeal has skyrocketed since season 1 premiered.

Lee Jung-jae, who plays Seong Gi-hun in Squid Game, has seen his international profile soar since the show's season 1 debut. The actor, who is originally from Seoul, won an Emmy for his role in 2022 and has since joined the Star Wars universe as Jedi Master Sol in The Acolyte.

Another character returning for season 1 is Hwang Jun-ho, played by Wi Ha-joon. A police investigator, Jun-ho went undercover on the squid game island and eventually discovered that his missing brother, Hwang In-ho, was the Front Man operating the deadly games. After being shot in the shoulder by his brother, Jun-ho fell off a cliff and into the water below.

In season 2, Jun-ho has survived his injuries and is working as a traffic cop before being pulled back into the chaos.

Wi, a Korean actor, grew up on his family's abalone farm and had notable roles in films such as Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum and Midnight.

Jeon Seok-ho joins the Squid Game season 2 cast as Choi Woo-seok, who assists Seong Gi-hun in investigating the games from the outside. Initially an indifferent contractor, Woo-seok's interest in the games becomes personal when someone close to him is killed.

This marks Jeon's most significant role to date. The actor has previously appeared in supporting roles in Korean TV series like The Good Wife, Jirisan, and Kingdom.

Finally, Gong Yoo returns as The Recruiter, the enigmatic and unnamed individual who initially approached Seong Gi-hun and invited him to participate in the games. In season 2, The Recruiter has a more substantial role, particularly in episode two, where viewers gain a deeper understanding of the motivations and psychology behind someone who undertakes such a violent and unsettling job.
