In celebration of the 41st anniversary on December 26, Slank released a physical album in the form of vinyl for the first time since its formation.
To mark their 41st anniversary on December 26, Slank unveiled a momentous physical album release - their first-ever vinyl record since their inception.
Despite boasting an impressive repertoire of 25 studio albums and countless releases, none had ever graced the vinyl format, rendering this occasion exceptionally special for Kaka (vocals), Ridho (guitar), Abdee (guitar), Ivanka (bass), and Bimbim (drums).
"Today is a historic day, as Slank enters its 41st year and we will be releasing vinyl for the first time. Thank God," Bimbim remarked during a press conference held at Potlot, South Jakarta on Thursday.
The material featured on this vinyl release is culled from their 25th studio album, 'Joged', which initially saw a digital launch in 2023. However, to further amplify the occasion, Slank has included two previously unreleased tracks - 'Don't Go First' and 'Lelucon Usang'.
"There are two new tracks that we didn't digitize. So, these two new songs are special, only on vinyl," Bimbim explained.
The vinyl cover notably includes a plea to refrain from disseminating the songs 'Don't Go First' and 'Lelucon Usang' on digital platforms.
"We would like to make an appeal that Slank's new songs on this vinyl, which we didn't upload digitally, should not be spread through social media or any digital medium to avoid violating the ITE Law," Bimbim stated.
"If something does circulate, it will be problematic, indicating that we were the ones who uploaded it, not the original creators," he concluded.
