Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the country's first Ken-Betwa river linking project in Khajuraho on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Prime Minister will reach Khajuraho at 12.10 pm on Wednesday and will leave for Delhi at 2.20 pm. Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and Union Water Power Minister CR Patil will also be present at the event to be held at Khajuraho Mela Ground. When the project takes shape, Bundelkhand will get relief from the water crisis and migration for employment will also reduce.
Stamps And Coins Will Be Issued In Memory Of Atal Bihari Vajpayee
PM Modi will also inaugurate the country's first Omkareshwar floating solar project and perform bhoomi pujan for 1,153 Atal Gram Sushasan Bhawans. He will also release a stamp and coin in memory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Ken-Betwa Link Project Details
The Ken-Betwa Link National Project is the largest irrigation project in the country that adopts underground pressurized pipe irrigation system. With the Rs 44,605 crore project, 2,853 million cubic meters of water will be stored in the dam by constructing a 77 meter high and 2.13 km long Daudhan dam and two tunnels on the Ken river in the Panna Tiger Reserve.
Irrigation And Drinking Water Facilities Will Be Available In Both States
The dam will provide irrigation and drinking water facilities to both the states through a 221 km long link canal. The project will irrigate 8.11 lakh hectares of land in two thousand villages of 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh namely Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Sagar, Raisen, Vidisha, Shivpuri and Datia.

21 Lakh People To Get Drinking Water Facility
59 thousand hectares of annual irrigation facility will be available in Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and Banda districts of Uttar Pradesh and existing irrigation will be stabilized in 1.92 lakh hectares of area. 44 lakh people of Madhya Pradesh and 21 lakh people of Uttar Pradesh will get drinking water facility. The project is being constructed on Ken river in Chhatarpur and Panna districts of Madhya Pradesh.
PM Modi To Inaugurate Floating Solar Project
In line with his commitment to promote energy self-sufficiency and green energy, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project located at Omkareshwar in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The project will reduce carbon emissions and contribute to the Government's mission of achieving net zero carbon emissions by the year 2070. It will also help in water conservation by reducing water evaporation.
