NASCAR and the NBA's social media accounts appear to be under attack.

NASCAR's social media accounts have been hit by hackers who used them to advertise a new crypto coin.
On Tuesday afternoon, the NASCAR main X account as well as its Xfinity and Truck Series accounts, shared a press release announcing the launch of a NASCAR token.
"Introducing $NASCAR Token—the official digital asset of motorsports, built on Solana to enhance fan engagement, rewards, and exclusive experiences," the post said. "Fast. Secure. The future of NASCAR."
The post was quickly deleted off NASCAR's accounts. It seems that NASCAR, like the NBA, was almost certainly hacked. Earlier in the day, the NBA's social media account was hacked and used to announce the launch of a new crypto coin.
The NBA PR team confirmed to Front Office Sports that their social media accounts were indeed hacked. Even after the confirmation, the NBA was still being hacked as the official X account reposted the press release multiple times. Shortly after the reposts, the league seemingly took control of the account, as the reposts were quickly deleted.
Both NASCAR and the NBA are now among the victims of a recent wave of crypto-related hacks that have hit various organizations and individuals. As organizations and individuals continue to fall victim to these attacks, there are increasing calls for collective action to mitigate the threat posed by crypto-related hacks.
"This isn's something we're aware of and investigating," a NASCAR spokesperson told On3 in an email. "In the meantime, we ask that fans remain vigilant and only trust official NASCAR channels for news and updates."
