The Government of India has released a limited-edition 50gm silver coin to commemorate the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha ceremony held earlier this year at Ayodhya's Ram Mandir. The unveiling ceremony was led by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the 19th foundation day celebrations of the Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India (SPMCIL). The release of the commemorative coin follows the unveiling of three coins in February, including one dedicated to Ram Lalla and the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

New Delhi, India - The Government of India has released a limited-edition 50-gram silver coin to commemorate the auspicious Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha ceremony held earlier this year at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. This special release is a testament to the profound cultural and religious significance of the ceremony, which marked a significant milestone in the construction of the temple.

The unveiling of the commemorative coin took place during the 19th foundation day celebrations of the Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India (SPMCIL), a state-owned enterprise responsible for producing currency and coins for the country. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presided over the ceremony, which also witnessed the unveiling of two other commemorative coins: a bi-metallic clad souvenir coin depicting the Enlightenment of Lord Buddha and another coin featuring the Greater one-horned Rhino as part of the Endangered Animals of India series.

The Pran Pratistha ceremony, which culminated on January 22, 2024, was an elaborate ritual that spanned over 11 days, commencing on January 12. The ceremony involved the consecration of the deities within the Ram Mandir, marking a pivotal moment in the construction and completion of the temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the rituals, performing the "sankalp" for the ceremony and actively participating in the consecration rituals. The event was hailed as a historic milestone in the spiritual journey of the nation.
