Two largely-adopted Layer-1 blockchains Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR) and Ripple (XRP) are battling out in the decentralized finance (DeFi) realm. According to Chainbroker, Hedera’s Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) based chain grew 394% over the past 30 days.
Hedera (HBAR) outpaced Ripple (XRP), as the XRP Ledger developer activity saw a 268% boost in the same time period. This places XRP Ledger third by development activity growth, MultiversX comes second to HBAR Network with an 362% uptick after tongues were wagging about SWIFT testing HBAR for cross-border transactions.
As Hedera’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) went live this month in partnership with Chainlink (LINK), the DeFi surge can be explained by this protocol providing an always-on infrastructure with battle-tested approaches towards Web security, working across 41 different blockchains.
Here’s Why HBAR Bulls Set Sights On $1
With the current performance of Hedera (HBAR), the altcoin is establishing an inverse Head ‘n’ Shoulders structure, which could turn out to be pivotal in reclaiming $0.20. Unseen since March 26, 2025, this HBAR price zone meets the red-label Bollinger Band (BOLL), signaling a breakthrough in momentum.
According to crypto analyst Jesse Peralta, HBAR’s technical setup is hinting at a way larger potential than the $0.20 key resistance level. With the neckline between $0.39 to $0.47, the trader expects HBAR to burst through the all-time peak of $0.56 before claiming $1 for the first time.
As for now, the #20 ranked altcoin HBAR is trading at $0.164, picking up 1.8% gains in 24 hours. The altcoin’s yearly yield stands at 100%, bowing down to Ripple’s (XRP) 311% returns. Regardless, XRP Ledger’s native crypto succumbed to a larger pullback, dropping 19.2% of its value, while the crypto bears crunched HBAR price by 15% during the same time frame.
