HashKey Group and Bosera Asset Management to Launch World's First Tokenized Money Market ETFs
Mar 28, 2025 at 10:00 pm
HashKey Group, a leading Asia-based crypto financial services firm, has teamed up with Bosera Asset Management to launch what they describe as the world's first tokenized money market exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
HashKey Group, a leading crypto financial services firm in Asia, is set to launch the world’s first tokenized money market exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in partnership with Bosera Asset Management.
These tokenized ETFs, which will represent shares in two existing Bosera money market ETFs—the Bosera HKD Money Market ETF and the Bosera USD Money Market ETF—have been approved by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).
The launch, scheduled for next month, is part of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s broader initiative, “Project Ensemble,” a sandbox project designed to explore the potential of tokenizing real-world assets.
ETFs, traditionally known for allowing investors to gain exposure to assets without direct ownership, are now being adapted into the blockchain space. By adding tokenized shares to these existing Bosera ETFs, HashKey aims to provide a more seamless and accessible method for investing in high-quality money market instruments.
HashKey Exchange will be the primary platform for distributing these tokenized ETFs. This will enable investors to gain direct exposure to money market instruments through tokenized assets, allowing DeFi investors to manage their portfolios more efficiently and mitigate market risks.
The tokenized ETFs will offer an innovative financial product that blends the stability of money market instruments with the flexibility and efficiency of blockchain technology.
“Bringing money market ETFs on-chain through blockchain technology is a crucial step for traditional finance to embrace Web3,” said Xiao Feng, CEO of HashKey Group.
This initiative aligns with the broader trend of increasing convergence between traditional finance and the growing Web3 ecosystem.
The tokenized money market ETFs are expected to provide a new tool for investors looking for ways to balance yields and reduce market risks in an increasingly complex financial environment.
This launch follows a similar move by OSL, another regulated crypto exchange in Hong Kong, which introduced a tokenized mutual fund—the ChinaAMC HKD Digital Money Market Fund—last month.
These developments demonstrate Hong Kong’s role as a global hub for digital finance and its commitment to bridging the gap between traditional financial systems and emerging blockchain technologies.
With the support of regulatory bodies like the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, the introduction of tokenized ETFs and other financial products marks a significant milestone in the evolution of digital asset markets in Asia and beyond.
