Elon Musk Would Import Milei’s Chainsaw Model to the U.S.

Nov 11, 2024 at 07:31 am

Experts from all over the world are examining the actions that President Javier Milei, under his libertarian vision, is executing in Argentina.

Elon Musk Would Import Milei’s Chainsaw Model to the U.S.

Elon Musk is reportedly working with Argentine President Javier Milei to bring the latter's "chainsaw model" of governance to the United States.

According to a report by local news outlet Cronista, Musk is coordinating with Milei's Minister of De-Regulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger, to implement the model in the U.S.

The "chainsaw model" refers to Milei's trademark display of a chainsaw during his campaign, which he used to symbolize his plan to cut down on bureaucracy and government overreach.

In a recent talk, Milei highlighted the success of his libertarian proposal, particularly the De-Regulation and State Transformation ministry, which he described as "one of the most successful."

He went on to say that President-Elect Trump had incorporated Musk into his government team to replicate the experience of Sturzenegger in the U.S.

"Among the several topics that I have touched on with Elon Musk is that he is already communicating with Federico to replicate this model," Milei said.

"We are exporting the Chainsaw, deregulation model to all over the world."

The chainsaw model aims to eliminate non-productive or non-essential institutions for the state, reducing unnecessary expenses and streamlining government functions.

This approach has already led to the closure of several ministries in Argentina, including the Coin House and the tax collecting agency, which was recently replaced by a smaller organization.

According to reports, Milei's chainsaw focus has yielded positive results in decreasing state spending, eliminating over 33,000 job positions.

In addition, more state-owned companies are in the government's sight, including Argentine Airlines, which might be sold or closed.
