The DePIN Association Has Officially Formed, Uniting Ten Pioneering Organizations Dedicated to Advancing the Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) Ecosystem
Jul 26, 2024 at 02:42 pm
The DePIN Association aims to foster innovation, establish industry standards, and promote the development of decentralized physical infrastructure networks.
Ten pioneering organizations have joined forces to establish the DePIN Association, an association dedicated to advancing the ecosystem of decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePINs).
The founding members of the DePIN Association include Acurast, peaq, DePINHub, PowerLedger, U2U Network, Impossible Cloud Network, POKT Network, SafeJunction, IoTeX, and Geodnet. These organizations each bring unique strengths to the association, contributing to a collective vision for a more connected, decentralized world.
Acurast empowers developers with decentralized and mobile-powered cloud computing, offering unstoppable compute capabilities. peaq provides a layer-1 blockchain tailored for DePINs, featuring modular functions, specialized economics, grants for builders, and deep enterprise and Web3 integrations.
DePINHub serves as a central hub for DePIN innovation, offering resources, support, and networking opportunities for projects and developers. PowerLedger promotes the democratization of energy through the tracking, tracing, and trading of energy in decentralized markets.
U2U Network is a modular layer-1 chain built on top of DAG and compatible with EVM, boasting 17,000 TPS and 350-ms finality using the Helios Consensus.
POKT Network provides a universal RPC infrastructure layer that connects applications with any open data source, ensuring scalability, uptime, and cost-effectiveness. SafeJunction offers a trustless database for provable facts, enhancing the accessibility, security, and ubiquity of proofs.
IoTeX supplies a modular infrastructure for DePIN projects, allowing for full deployment or integration into existing frameworks. Geodnet utilizes blockchain technology for geospatial data and services, improving the accuracy and availability of location-based information.
Finally, Impossible Cloud Network (ICN) connects enterprise-grade hardware with cloud service providers, leveraging SLA oracles for uncompromised performance and service quality.
Together, these organizations will work through the DePIN Association to establish industry standards, promote collaboration, advocate for supportive policies and regulations, and foster innovation and sustainable development within the DePIN space.
Over the next few months, the DePIN Association will focus on several strategic initiatives, including standardization, research and development, education and outreach, and events and communication.
The association's efforts will culminate in the creation of a robust DePIN ecosystem that will play a key role in shaping the future of decentralized infrastructure.
