Essential News
A Tale of Two Blast Games: Less than a month after Blast's Ethereum scaling network launched, we're witnessing both the positive and negative sides of gaming on the platform.
On the bright side, DeFi farming game Crypto Valleys is flourishing as players unlock randomized NFT seed packs, cultivate their crops, and hope for bountiful Yield (the game's native token, currently the most traded on Blast).
However, Tremendous Sushi Samurai, a Blast-powered game operating on Telegram, faced a setback last week when it was exploited, losing an estimated $4.6 million worth of tokens. Fortunately, the incident turned out to be a white hat hack, and the funds were returned to the team minus a reward fee. The game will relaunch with a new v2 token.
Immutable x Polygon Fund: Ethereum scaling giants Immutable and Polygon are collaborating again, this time to launch a $100 million gaming investment fund led by King River Capital. The fund will invest in crypto games across platforms, with the first few revealed so far – including Pixelmon and MetalCore – operating on their own networks.
Saga Mainnet Nears: Layer-1 blockchain network Saga announced at the Game Developers Conference this week that its mainnet will launch in April, coinciding with a token airdrop campaign. The token, which eligible wallets can claim now, is expected to go live then as well. The company is also establishing its own in-house game publishing division, Saga Origins.
