Mar 27, 2025 at 10:00 pm
Ripple, a leading provider of digital asset infrastructure, has announced a new partnership with Chipper Cash. Through this partnership, Ripple Payments serves as the mechanism to enhance international money transfers to Africa.
Chipper Cash, a popular payments provider with five million customers across nine African countries, announced that users can now receive funds from anywhere in the world at any time thanks to a partnership with Ripple.
The integration of Ripple Payments will enable faster and simpler money transfer services into Africa.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming Chipper Cash to the Ripple network,” said Reece Merrick, Managing Director, Middle East & Africa at Ripple.
“Chipper Cash has revolutionized the way people send, receive and manage money online in a part of the world that is quickly adopting blockchain technology.”
He added that the partnership will empower Chipper Cash customers with faster and less expensive cross-border money transfer services.
The new system will spur regional economic growth and technological innovation.
“We are excited to be adding crypto to our payments mix with Ripple’s technology, which will increase financial inclusion and deeper market access,” said Ham Serunjogi, Co-Founder and CEO of Chipper Cash.
“The integration of Ripple’s network will enable Chipper Cash users to receive cross-border payments quickly and at less cost.”
The partnership will see Chipper Cash integrate Ripple’s network for cross-border payments.
Earlier this year, the payment platform unveiled its operations in Portugal with major financial services provider Unicâmbio.
The latest technological advancements have enabled faster and less expensive payment transfers between Portugal and Brazil, along with increased transparency.
Meanwhile, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse sees opportunity in the U.S. market.
The company plans to grow its U.S. operations after the SEC decided to end their legal battle.
Over several years, the company achieved a key success against legal opposition.
