Chef Vikas Khanna Gifts Anne Hathaway Mysore Sandalwood Soap, a Handcrafted Marble Box From Agra and the Book 'Kiss in Kashmir'

In a poignant celebration of Indian heritage and personal memories, renowned chef Vikas Khanna presented Hollywood star Anne Hathaway with the iconic Mysore Sandalwood Soap at his famed New York restaurant, Bungalow.

Acclaimed chef Vikas Khanna recently had the pleasure of hosting Hollywood star Anne Hathaway at his renowned New York restaurant, Bungalow. In a heartwarming gesture that intertwined Indian heritage with personal memories, Khanna gifted Hathaway with the iconic Mysore Sandalwood Soap.

This gift held a deeper significance beyond a mere token of admiration. It served as a poignant tribute to Khanna's late sister, Radha, whose enduring love for Hathaway's films provided solace during her valiant battle with illness.

Together with the Mysore Sandalwood Soap, Khanna also presented Hathaway with a handcrafted marble box from Agra and a copy of the book Kiss in Kashmir.

In an emotional Instagram post, Khanna recounted how he would often watch The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City with his sister while she was hospitalized. Hathaway's films brought immense joy to Radha, and her laughter during those moments was a precious balm for Khanna during a trying time.

After his sister's passing, Khanna found it too painful to keep the films on his computer and eventually deleted them. However, when Hathaway visited his restaurant, those cherished memories came flooding back, bringing him great joy in serving her.

To commemorate the moment, Khanna shared a touching photo of his sister, photoshopped next to Hathaway, as if she were present.
