The Capital One Guy has been used in a recent ad campaign for the company, and he was involved in a humorous exchange with the Orange Bowl referee at the coin toss.
The Capital One Guy, also known as Jeremy Brandt, was present at Thursday's matchup between Penn State and Notre Dame for a chance to reach the national championship game.
During the pre-game festivities, which included representatives from the Orange Bowl and Capital One, the Orange Bowl referee mistakenly referred to Brandt by his Capital One moniker instead of his given name.
"Capital One Guy, thanks for being here as well," said the referee while welcoming in all the traditional honorees.
The crowd had a good laugh over the slip-up, and fans on social media seemed to enjoy the moment as well.
One fan tweeted, "There are probably several celebrities here, but none more important than the Capital One Bank Guy!"
Another fan commented, "I thought the @CapitalOne guy never left the bank."
Despite the誤表記, it was a fun exchange and one that was offered up much to the delight of fans on social media.
