Bitcoin Breaks Record High Again in 11 Days, Marking New High

Bitcoin hit a new all-time high again Monday morning, rising above the $105,000 level for the first time.

This comes as the cryptocurrency continues to rally ahead of Christmas and amid expectations for a new "pro-virtual currency" policy from U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

According to cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, each bitcoin was trading at $105,087 (150.9 million won), up 3.63% from 24 hours ago at 6:25 p.m. Eastern time (3:25 p.m. Western time).

The previous all-time high was $104,000, also based on Coinbase, which was recorded on the 4th. Bitcoin crossed the $100,000 mark on the 13th.

After climbing back to the $100,000 level, the price has been maintaining the $100,000 range for three days. The price, which fluctuated from the $103,000 level and was close to the $104,000 level, exceeded the $104,000 level due to strong buying in the afternoon. The rise continued, breaking the $105,000 mark at one point.

According to a survey by CoinGecko, a coin-specialized media outlet, Bitcoin has risen seven times in the week just before Christmas, and five times each in the week after Christmas. Bitcoin's average growth rate during this period was 1.3%.

On top of that, as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who raised Bitcoin to the $100,000 mark, is about a month away, expectations for a new "pro-virtual currency" policy appear to be reflected.

Meanwhile, Ethereum, the second-largest market capitalization, is trading up 1.50% at $3932, approaching the $4,000 mark, while Ripple also rose 0.87% to $2.43. Solana was up 1.09% at $222, while Dogecoin was up 2.37% at $0.41.
