This surge in corporate Bitcoin adoption is largely attributed to the recent market downturn, which has prompted many companies to explore alternative assets to hedge against inflation and market volatility.

This growing corporate interest in Bitcoin has also led to a surge in demand for the ‘Poor Man’s Bitcoin ETF,’ an ETF that invests in companies holding substantial amounts of BTC in their corporate financial reserves.

The asset management firm Bitwise filed a registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on December 27 to launch a new ETF named the “Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF.” This fund will invest in companies that hold at least 1,000 Bitcoins, as reported by the SEC filing.

This move by Bitwise comes amidst a growing trend of Bitcoin treasury operations among corporations. For instance, publicly listed companies now account for 49% (73 out of 149) of all entities that hold Bitcoin, according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.

These announcements were followed by an immediate rise in the stock value of these companies.
