Cryptocurrency exchange Woo X has added an AI-powered lead trader, called “George AI,” to the platform’s copy trade application unveiled earlier this year, letting users emulate a machine learning crypto sentiment engine, and also allowing for weekly bets on man versus machine.

The addition of George AI to Woo X’s copy trade app is designed to provide users with a new and advanced strategy for crypto trading. The lead trader is powered by Kaito’s AI, which analyzes crypto-related social media data to identify trading opportunities.

According to Woo X, George AI’s trades will be copied automatically by users who follow him on the copy trade app. The platform will also host weekly copy trading competitions between the most copied human traders and George AI, with users able to bet on who will come out on top.

The lead trader, called “George AI,” has been added to the platform’s copy trade app in a partnership with Kaito, a firm founded by former Citadel technicians that has built a machine learning search engine for crypto sentiment across platforms like X and Discord.

The move comes amid increasing interest in applying AI to traditional trading in assets like Apple or Nvidia stock, where Large Language Models (LLMs) have been used to analyze social media platforms like Reddit.

But when it comes to so-called Crypto Twitter, the signal is about an order of magnitude noisier, and is also driving a huge amount of retail trading, Kaito CEO Yu Hu told CoinDesk in an interview.
