New York, April 17, 2024 - Magic Eden, a nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace powered by the Solana blockchain, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing industry leader Blur in monthly trading volume for March 2024.

According to a report published by CoinGecko on April 17, Magic Eden's NFT trading volume saw a remarkable surge of 194.4% in March, reaching a staggering $756.5 million. This significant increase eclipsed Blur's modest growth to $530.4 million during the same period.

Magic Eden's rise to prominence has been attributed to a combination of factors, including the launch of its Diamond reward program and its ongoing partnership with Yuga Labs, the creators behind the highly sought-after Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection. Notably, Yuga Labs recently terminated relationships with NFT marketplaces that failed to support creator royalties, a move that benefited Magic Eden.

This marks the sixth consecutive month of growth for Magic Eden in terms of trading volume. March also marked the first month that Blur was unseated as the leading NFT marketplace by trading volume since December 2023, when OKX's NFT marketplace briefly dominated due to a surge in Bitcoin Ordinals collectibles.

Consequently, OKX's trading volume has declined by 73.3% since December to $180 million.
