A company selling smartwatch face designs through non-fungible tokens has sued luxury fashion conglomerate LVMH for patent infringement.

According to a March 10 complaint filed to a Texas federal court, Watch Skins Corporation alleged that LVMH misappropriated its “pioneering NFT display technology.”

The complaint claimed that the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 smartwatch and other products from LVMH brands used NFT display technology that was based on three patents that Watch Skins owned.

The lawsuit against LVMH comes after the company’s brands began selling NFT collections earlier this year.
