Haliey Welch, also known as Hawk Tuah girl, released her own meme coin, $HAWK, in early December. However, fans quickly lost money on the new cryptocurrency, with some claiming to have lost their life savings as its value plummeted drastically over a short period.

Law firms soon began investigating the matter, and some individuals have now filed a lawsuit against Welch and her team for their involvement in the debacle.

According to a document filed with the court on December 19, the defendants are accused of "unlawful promotion and sale of the Hawk Tuah cryptocurrency memecoin" and state that $HAWK was "sold to the public without proper registration."

Comedian Joe Rogan has also commented on the situation, expressing little sympathy for those who lost money in the scheme.

"One guy invested a million dollars. Imagine like, 'The Hawk Tuah girl? Yeah, that’s a sound investment. That seems like a good place to put my nest egg,'" Rogan said during a recent episode of his podcast.

The lawsuit alleges that Welch and her team are responsible for $151,000 in losses among 12 individuals.

Welch herself has addressed the ordeal, stating that she is taking it "extremely seriously" and has broken her two-week social media silence to do so.
