A crypto veteran is predicting that Bitcoin (BTC) and the broader digital assets market will continue to trade flat in the first few weeks of 2025.

Pseudonymous trader The Crypto Dog tells his 853,00 followers on social media platform X that he believes the market will not regain bullish momentum until President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office.

According to the analyst, Trump’s inauguration on January 20th will serve as a strong catalyst, pushing Bitcoin and altcoins to higher highs.

“The inauguration probably acts just the same as election day – it’s going to pin us down until it’s done.

Examining historical data, The Crypto Dog notes that Bitcoin rallied after President Joe Biden took over the White House in 2021.

The analyst also points out that a similar trend can be observed during the 2017 cycle.

While the analyst’s analysis suggests further consolidation, he adds that his view will be invalidated if the S&P 500 continues to show strength.
