President Donald Trump is considering replacing Jerome Powell as current chair of the Federal Reserve, even though he does not have the authority to do so, reported CCN.

According to the U.S. Federal Reserve Act, the president can’t fire the chair. The Fed is designed to be independent of political influence so it can make decisions in the best interest of the economy, even if they’re unpopular with the White House.
