The US and Japan kicked off their tariff talks this week, with both sides set to resume discussions in the coming weeks, a report by the Financial Times revealed on Thursday.

As the talks began, US President Donald Trump said that they made "big progress" in the trade talks with Japan this week, adding that he is "very confident" about a deal with the EU and also that they would "make a very good deal" with China.
