Based on the day’s low price of under USD 75,000, the sale was worth at least USD 1.12 billion. Bitcoin is presently trading at approximately USD 84,000 at the time of writing.

However, when the coin's price drops, they often struggle to cover operating costs and may be forced to sell more Bitcoin to keep their businesses afloat.

In 2025, several major Bitcoin mining companies have been forced to liquidate not only Bitcoin but also other assets to meet financial obligations. A combination of falling Bitcoin prices, rising mining difficulty, and shrinking transaction fees has created a tough operating environment.

Although it's still mining, the company has leaned into infrastructure upgrades, including a shift toward hydro-based liquid cooling. That investment is long-term, but costly now. As a result, DMG has also indicated it may sell additional holdings if needed.
