President Aleksandr Lukashenko of Belarus has expressed openness to the possibility of his country engaging in cryptocurrency mining.

During a meeting with Alexei Kushnarenko, the newly appointed minister of energy, Lukashenko raised the topic of crypto mining in response to a report by Bloomberg that the U.S. government is examining the creation of a national strategic crypto reserve. This reserve could include major cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, ether, solana, ripple, and cardano.

As reported by Belarusian state media outlet Belta, Lukashenko made remarks alluding to the White House's interest in crypto.
