Aurora Labs, a subsidiary of NEAR, has announced a major update to its Aurora Cloud Console, a developer-friendly platform for deploying custom blockchains on the NEAR Protocol. The update introduces the capability to deploy custom blockchains in less than a minute, overcoming a key technological hurdle and making blockchain development as simple as rolling out a smart contract.

The new feature, part of Aurora’s 2025 roadmap, will support up to 1,000 custom chains by the end of the year.

Aurora Cloud Console guides users through onboarding with minimal effort, allowing them to customize parameters such as permissions, base tokens, gas fees, and integrations. They can also monitor transaction usage and follow deployment in real-time, eliminating the need for manual blockchain configuration.

Upcoming releases to Aurora Cloud Console will introduce interoperability with automatic bridge configurations, Intents, and Forwarder support, as well as single-click Oracle deployment. Other enhancements include complete gas management, fiat-to-crypto on/offramp integrations, and one-click decentralized exchange (DEX) deployment via Trisolaris. Stablecoins and Bitcoin as base tokens will follow later this year, together with virtual chain indexing and unused chain recycling.
