An Argentine prosecutor has asked a judge to issue an Interpol “Red Notice” for Hayden Davis, a U.S. citizen who claims to be advising presidential candidate Javier Milei on cryptocurrency matters, according to a report from Bloomberg.

According to reports from local media, judge Chaer is investigating Milei and his brother, Mariano Milei, for alleged fraud in connection with the launch of LIBRA. The cryptocurrency, which is a token on the Stellar blockchain, was launched in January by an unknown group.

After Milei endorsed LIBRA, its value skyrocketed to a total market capitalization of more than $4.5 billion, according to the crypto analytics tool DEX Screener. However, LIBRA’s price soon plummeted, and it’s now fallen more than 99% to about $18 million.

Earlier this week, Hayden claimed in a post on X that he helped Milei launch his token.

Just days after LIBRA’s launch, a federal judge in Argentina named Chaer opened an investigation into Milei after an attorney requested that the politicians be probed for allegedly defrauding citizens. Both Milei and Hayden have denied wrongdoing.
