Untitled Tag Game - First to the Token - 1st Speedrun (10;09.462)

Mar 30, 2025 at 02:01 pm Untyper

Here is my first speedrun recorded for the "First to the Token" story from Untitled Tag Game. (Speedrun time: 10;09.462) ------ (Context/Slight Spoilers/Yapping Below...) # Context To put to context, Roblox recently established a huge event called, The Hunt: Mega Edition. Untitled Tag Game (UTG) is a Roblox game which you have to tag other players with the use of parkour movements, routes, techniques, etc. UTG was added into the Hunt event and the developers eventually created, what I should say, the "lore" aspect of UTG. Personally, I really enjoyed playing throughout this short story game, which (in a brief summary) you have to get the token before a (somewhat) dictatorial businessman, The Guy. The developers really cooked up the visuals, animations, and the strategies that you have to learn to progress throughout the story. Although I didn't want to participate in the hunt event, it seems that this game executed this really well. After completing the first run of the story, I decided that I should consider speedrunning it (since I enjoy watching speedrun videos and such, even though I rarely try to speedrun at all). The short story was quite complex and I had to plan out numerous strategies, methods, and shortcuts to reduce the time, obviously. In fact, it took me around 6-8 attempts to execute a somewhat "perfect" speedrun. To add onto THAT, I even had to take some notes and shortcuts on each section of the story so that I can remember the methods to execute a faster run. (You can view the notes further below.) In the recording, this is only my first official attempt of speedrunning this quick story, because I apparently made some slight mistakes, but not where I have to entirely redo the section. Later on, I record the speedruns which will be faster than this one. (idk why but i'll add this meaningless info: this speedrun was played on ~144 fps and yeah.) ------ # Notes (Some shortcuts not explained here are self-explanatory in the video.) - You can spam left-click to skip the dialogue only if it's skippable (which can reduce time by a lot). - In "surveillance", you can hover on top of the cells, but have to face from the front as well, to be considered inspecting the cell. - Importantly in "surveillance" (again), the targetted cells are randomized, which can affect speedrun time. - When going to the breakroom, you can either consistently vault on the cells, or vault & roll to gain momentum (which increases your speed). - In "communications", you can easily find the keycard in the middle and crouch to the right vents to reach to the right airlock. - In "turbines", you can simply toggle the 3rd turbine and the 4th turbine to turn on all of the turbines in the fastest way possible. (Explanation below.) ------ # How do the Turbines Work There are 6 turbines and a middle panel in the room. The panel starts off with 1 and 6 being on. Starting from left to right, the 1st turbine only toggles 2. The 2nd toggles 1 and 3. The 3rd toggles 2 and 4. The middle panel moves all of the bars to the right (and back to 1 if it reaches over 6). The 4th toggles 3 and 5. The 5th toggles 4 and 6. Finally, the 6th only toggles 5. If 1 and 6 are on, you can simply toggle the 3rd and 4th turbines to turn on the remaining numbers (2,3,4,5). ------ Enough yapping... As always, have a good day! ~ Untyper
