XRP Price Glitch on Live TV Broadcast Shows the Asset Surging to $21,355
Mar 29, 2025 at 09:09 am
A live TV broadcast mistakenly showed XRP surging to $21,355, a 961,936% spike. By Cointelegraph. Updated Apr 14, 2022 at 1:13 a.m. PDT.
A recent report by American Sunrise Early Edition has highlighted a large-scale price glitch that occurred during a cryptocurrency market segment on the show. The segment, which was focused on the latest developments in the crypto sphere, displayed some serious errors in its price feed.
According to the report, the show’s screen displayed XRP surging to an astronomical $21,355, a staggering 961,936% spike from its actual market value of $2.22 at the time of writing.
The anomaly was pointed out by a viewer who was watching the show on Real America’s Voice cable news channel. The segment, which was hosted by Jake Novak, displayed a segment dedicated to showcasing the latest price action of major cryptocurrencies.
However, viewers noticed that while Novak did comment on Bitcoin’s price anomaly—which saw the flagship cryptocurrency valued at $43,636 on the screen, compared to its actual price of $86,246—he failed to acknowledge the even more significant glitch in XRP’s price.
The report adds that the screen displayed Bitcoin’s price decreasing from its true value of $86,246 to $43,636. At the time, the crypto market leader was trading at around $86,000.
The segment also showed some other assets being valued at drastically different prices than their true market values. The screen displayed Ethereum (ETH) trading at $6,000, compared to its actual price of $2,345. The report adds that Solana’s (SOL) price was shown to be $2,896, compared to its true price of $139.
The report concludes that despite the significant price variation of other cryptocurrencies, XRP’s price increase was by far the most extreme. The crypto community is no stranger to price glitches, especially in the realm of live TV.
Earlier this year, several viewers pointed out a glitch in a Good Morning Britain segment that had Bitcoin’s price at $15,000. At the time, the crypto market leader was trading at around $68,000. The segment was focused on the price volatility of cryptocurrencies.
However, viewers noticed a glitch on the screen that displayed Bitcoin’s price at $15,000. The presenters on the show also discussed Bitcoin as if it was trading at that price.
Those watching the segment at the time took to Twitter to share their amusement at the glitch. One viewer wrote: “They’re talking about Bitcoin like it’s in a crash but they’ve got it at $15k on screen.
