Trump's Digital Assets Tank as Biden Spoof Coin Surges
Apr 15, 2024 at 04:05 am
Parody meme coins, such as Jeo Boden, inspired by President Joe Biden are experiencing a surge in value, while digital assets associated with former President Donald Trump, like trading cards and MAGA meme coins, are plummeting. The sales volume for Ethereum-based NFTs have reached $536 million in the last 30 days, but interest in Trump's NFTs is waning as he faces criminal charges.
Trump-Linked Digital Assets Plummet Amidst Criminal Trial, Biden Spoof Coin Surges
Amidst a tumultuous period for former President Donald Trump, digital assets associated with him have witnessed a significant decline in value, while a meme coin parodying his successor, President Joe Biden, has experienced a substantial surge.
Trump Digital Trading Cards: A Drastic Decline
Following allegations of falsifying business records, Trump's official NFT collection has faced a severe backlash. Trading volumes for the Trump Digital Trading Cards have plummeted by over 99% within the past 30 days. According to data from OpenSea, the leading NFT marketplace, the collection, which featured photoshopped images of Trump, has not recorded any trading activity in the past week. The NFTs, initially priced at $99 apiece, have now become virtually worthless.
MAGA Coin Performance Falters
The meme coin MAGA, inspired by Trump's slogan "Make America Great Again," has also suffered a decline. Its value has dropped by more than 4% in the past 24 hours and by approximately 25% in the last 30 days. Despite a positive price difference over 14 days, the coin has exhibited a downward trend overall.
Trump Media & Technology Group's Struggles
The parent company of Trump's social media network, Trump Media & Technology Group Corp., has faced significant market value losses since its public listing on March 26. The company's shares have shed roughly $4.5 billion in value, indicating investor skepticism towards Trump-linked ventures.
Biden Parody Coin Jeo Boden Shows Growth
In stark contrast to the decline of Trump-linked assets, a meme coin called Jeo Boden (BODEN), which parodies President Biden, has made significant gains. BODEN has risen by 24.4% in the past 24 hours and by almost 271% over the last 30 days. The coin's market capitalization now stands at $475,326,682, with a trading volume of $25,247,510 in the previous 24 hours.
