Despite being primarily an ERC-20 token, SHIB’s impressive performance has positioned it as the top token in the Ethereum world, surpassing even the meme token PEPE.
As of now, SHIB ranks first in the Ethereum realm with a market cap of $14.68 billion, while PEPE, also an ERC-20 token, stands at a distant second with a market cap of $8.92 billion.
However, PEPE’s market cap has seen a surge recently, fueled by the immense popularity of the "frog" meme token. Interestingly, PEPE’s trading volume for the past 24 hours is a whopping $5.37 billion, dwarfing SHIB's $1.44 billion by nearly four times.
This disparity in trading volume could be a point of contention when discussing the relative size and dominance of the two meme tokens in the crypto world.
