Rare 50p coin featuring Peter Rabbit character listed on eBay for 40,000 times its face value

The item is listed on the online marketplace for 40,000 times its face value and features the Beatrix Potter character Peter Rabbit.
A rare 50p coin featuring Peter Rabbit is being sold on eBay for a staggering £20,000.
The coin, which has the Queen on the back, was minted in 2017 and is part of the Beatrix Potter collection.
It is circulated, showing signs of wear from being used in everyday transactions.
But despite the wear and tear, coin collectors are willing to pay top dollar for the coin.
The listing reads: “This 50p coin from 2017 features The Tale of Peter Rabbit and is part of the Beatrix Potter collection.
“It was minted in the United Kingdom and is a popular addition to British coin collections.
"The coin is circulated, showing signs of wear from use in everyday transactions.
"It is a valuable piece for collectors interested in British decimal coinage and the works of Beatrix Potter.”
The coin is listed for £20,000 or the best offer with free delivery.
It is located in Oxford and the listing can be viewed here.
Other rare 50p coins are also listed on eBay for a small fortune, with some on for as much as £50,000.
Recently, a Kew Gardens 50p coin sold on eBay for a record-breaking £18,000.
The coin, which was released in 2009, featured the Chinese pagoda at the Royal Botanic Gardens in London.
It was part of a collection of 26 coins which were released to mark the different regions of the UK.
The coin was in pristine condition and had never been circulated, which helped to drive up the price.
Another rare 50p coin, which featured the seventieth birthday of the Queen, also sold for a small fortune on eBay.
The coin, which was released in 1996, had the Queen’s head on one side and her age, 70, on the other.
It was never officially released into circulation and only around 300 examples are thought to exist.
The coin sold on eBay for an incredible £15,000.
