Rain misery over as autumn sets in bringing chilly mornings and brisk winds

Swathes of England and Wales saw a deluge of rain that left parts of the country facing travel chaos and school closures.

Rain misery over as autumn sets in bringing chilly mornings and brisk winds

Thunderstorms and heavy rain that caused travel chaos and school closures at the start of the week have mostly left the UK, bringing drier and brighter conditions.

But the Met Office said temperatures will be cooler in a sign that autumn is now setting in.

Most areas will see a brighter start to Tuesday with some coastal showers, the Met Office said.

But the予報予報士 said it will not be a return to the warm temperatures felt over the past couple of weeks.

Instead, autumn will start to set in with temperatures reflecting that.

“A chilly morning in the north, brisk winds and generally feeling cooler for all,” the Met Office said.

Temperatures will hover around the low teens in much of England and Wales early this morning while the mercury will struggle past 11C in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

As the day continues, the temperature will hover around the mid teens across England and Wales while it will remain around 10C to 12C in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

The Met Office forecast for Tuesday said while the larger rainstorms have left the UK, there will be showers in other parts of the country.

“Showery rain will affect Scotland tomorrow, extending to parts of northern England later,” it said.

“Elsewhere it will be a brighter, though fresher day than on Monday, with a few showers developing.”

Further into the week, there could be wet and windy weather affecting most areas on Wednesday and Thursday.

Northern Ireland and Scotland should remain drier and colder, however.
