Across Protocol Raises $41M in Token Sale Round Led by Paradigm

Paradigm Led A $41 Million Token Sale For Across Protocol

Venture capital firm Paradigm has sold a $41 million token sale for Across Protocol, an optimistic blockchain interoperability project, with its ACX tokens, in a move that will help the protocol create stronger connections between Ethereum and diverse Layer 2 networks. The investment will optimize user experience across multiple blockchain platforms.

Among the participants who contributed to the round include Bain Capital Crypto, Coinbase Ventures, Multicoin Capital and angel investor Sina Habinian, while Risk Labs co-founder Hart Lambur confirmed the completion of the funding in Q2 2024 and Q4.

The protocol’s operations are managed by Risk Labs, which also oversees the operations of the UMA protocol. Moreover, deal investors will follow a vesting plan with one-year cliff unlocks extending through November 2025.

The newly obtained funds will support developments related to ERC-7683 standards and will help Across advance its position in Ethereum’s rollup-centric development strategy.

Support For Ethereum’s Layer-2 Ecosystem

Across Protocol is on a mission to enhance the Ethereum ecosystem by introducing an intent-driven communication layer that facilitates seamless user interactions between blockchain networks. The protocol provides a single request mechanism for users to execute functions like token swaps, bridge funds and deposits.

Across Protocol handles the process automatically, taking care of asset transfer operations and smart contract execution, which in turn reduces transaction speeds.

Across Protocol is known for its rapid operational design, enabling Layer 2 to Layer 2 transfers to complete within five seconds. The efficiency of Across’s system functions is a crucial component that will help unify the Ethereum ecosystem during the network’s stipple integration.

Uniswap Labs has joined forces with Across Protocol to build the ERC-7683 standard, which aims to simplify cross-chain interactions for over fifty protocols. The platform allows users to seamlessly connect to various network systems, including Optimism, Base, Arbitrum, Linea, Scroll, zkSync, Polygon and multiple other ecosystems. Decentralized apps (dapps) have no need for separate bridging through its bridge integration.

Expansion And Growth Plans

The substantial investment from Paradigm will enable Across to expand its technological infrastructure and facilitate broader acceptance of its cross-chain solutions. Since its inception, Across has facilitated over $19 billion in volume, with 2025 alone seeing over $1 billion in volume activity in January.

The new funding allows Across to accelerate growth through product development and increased implementation of its ERC-7683 framework across different blockchains.

Unichain public mainnet integration is part of Across’s comprehensive plan to expand and improve cross-chain transfer capabilities. By supporting a diverse range of ecosystems, Across boosts Ethereum’s multi-chain performance, leading to efficient bridge solutions.

The recent funding infusion brings Across’s total fund to $51 million after its previous $10 million funding round in 2022. The additional capital acquisition strengthens Across’s position in the blockchain space as the company advances its objective to build an interoperable Ethereum ecosystem.
