Pokémon TCG Pocket Misty Card Has Become A Meme
Nov 24, 2024 at 08:00 am
It Requires A Lot Of Luck To Be Useful
Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket players are sharing screenshots of some incredibly lucky coin flips.
Some Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket players appear to be hogging all the luck to themselves, as players share screenshots of some unbelievably lucky coin flips. The game has added a few new cards and simplified some existing ones. Among the new cards is the Misty supporter trainer card, which is meant to help players add Water energies onto their Pokémon, but only if they're lucky.
A Reddit post by 405freeway shows that luck-based cards aren't anything new to the TCG game by comparing the new Misty card to the 2000 card, Blaine's Ninetales. This card had players flip a coin after attacking, and remove all Fire energy cards attached to it if the coin landed on tails. The ongoing joke since the release of the game has been that players are very rarely lucky when playing the Misty card.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Misty Card Has Become A Meme It Requires A Lot Of Luck To Be Useful
The Misty supporter card in Pokémon TCG Pocket is very useful, in theory. The card has players choose a Water-type Pokémon, then flip a coin until it turns up tails. For each time the coin lands on heads, a Water Energy is attached to the card. If the player gets lucky, this supporter is a great way to add enough Energy cards to a strong Pokémon for a potentially devastating attack.
In reality, the card seems incredibly unlucky and many players complain that the coin never lands on heads. As a result, the card has been the subject of many memes that change the text to a variation of "Flip a coin. It's tails. It's always tails." However, it seems that players aren't always as unlucky as anecdotal evidence suggests.
TCG Pocket players have started sharing screenshots of their unbelievably lucky coin flips, showing many coins landing on heads. Their great luck is terrible news for the opponent, though, and several fans report that the lucky Misty has won them matches. "I’m sorry to the player that watched me flip head 7 times and immediately conceded," says Redditor Joltik.
Misty Isn't The Only Pokémon TCG Pocket Card That Requires Luck Unlucky Coin Tosses Seem Prevalent In The Game
Getting heads on Misty's coin flips can be a frustrating experience, but when it goes right, it's so satisfying. Unfortunately, it seems that some players have more luck than others. "So you're the person taking all the probability," exclaims aceofdiamonds42 in response to one of the many lucky coin flippers.
Misty isn't the only card in the game that requires luck with coin tosses, making it difficult to land a hit for those of us who are unlucky. Marowak ex, Pinsir, Skiddo, and several other cards are completely reliant on flipping a coin for their attacks. Failing on Misty is annoying but not terrible, but failing at any of the other cards that need a coin toss to do any damage at all can make or break a battle. At least it's good to know that some players out there are having some luck with Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket coin tosses.
