This 1-ounce, .999 fine silver coin comes from the Mint’s West Point facility and continues the uncirculated Silver Eagle series, which dates back to 2006.

U.S. Mint Releases 2024-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle

The United States Mint will release the 2024-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle on June 6. This 1-ounce, .999 fine silver coin is produced at the Mint’s West Point facility and continues the uncirculated Silver Eagle series, which began in 2006.

No mintage or product limit is announced for this coin, which is designed for collectors. However, the U.S. Mint notes an initial household ordering limit of 10 coins per household for the first 24-hour sales period.

Tens of thousands of these Silver Eagles are sold each year, with individual sales through June 2 listed as follows:

Coin Designs

All American Silver Eagles, whether this uncirculated edition, those in collector proof quality, or the bullion version intended for investors, share the same obverse (heads side) design. This design features Adolph A. Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty image, a portrayal of Liberty that first appeared on half-dollars from 1916 to 1947 and has since become a favorite among collectors.

Liberty is shown striding forward, draped in folds of the flag. Her right hand is outstretched while her left hand carries branches of laurel and oak. Though it has appeared on the obverse since the series was introduced, slight enhancements were made to the image in 2021 using U.S. Mint historical assets and modern technology to better reflect Weinman’s original intent.

Obverse inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2024.”

2021 also brought an entirely new reverse design for the program, with artwork created by U.S. Mint artist Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. The design depicts an eagle as it prepares to land, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest.

Reverse inscriptions include “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”

Each coin features an enhanced security measure with a reeded edge variation.

Ordering

Beginning at noon ET on June 6, the 2024-W Uncirculated American Silver Eagle will be available for ordering at $76 from the Mint’s American Eagle Coins online portal. This price is unchanged from last year’s uncirculated Silver Eagle.
