Brostoff represented the city's east side on the Milwaukee Common Council.
The Brady Street Business Improvement District will hold a memorial walk in his honor Monday night.
People will gather at the Roman Coin bar at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., they will walk with candles down Brady Street to Farwell Avenue.
"This candlelight memorial walk is a heartfelt way to honor his legacy and bring our community together in remembrance," executive director of the Brady Street Business Improvement District Michael Sander said in a statement. "I hope this event inspires us to continue his mission of unity and togetherness, making it a regular tradition that celebrates the spirit of our neighborhood."
