Michigan Football Concludes Spring Practice with Blue Team's 17-0 Spring Game Victory

The University of Michigan football program will be looking to build on a successful 2023 campaign. After notching a 13-1 record, reaching the College Football Playoff and winning the Big Ten Championship, the Wolverines will be aiming for another deep postseason run in 2024.

As part of its preparations for the upcoming season, Michigan held its annual Maize vs. Blue Spring Game on Saturday afternoon (April 15) at Michigan Stadium. Kicker Stuart Blake, running back Micah Ka'apana and quarterback Bryce Underwood combined to account for all 17 points as the Blue team defeated the Maize team, 17-0.

The game was scoreless throughout the first quarter despite both teams moving the chains on offense. The Blue team got on the board first with a 28-yard field goal by Blake at the 11:03 mark in the second quarter to make it 3-0.

After holding the Maize team scoreless again in the second quarter, the Blue team extended its lead to 10-0 after Ka'apana punched in a two-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter. The touchdown was set up by a 30-yard run by Kuzdzal.

Later in the fourth quarter, with the Blue team still clinging to a 10-0 lead, Underwood found Hoffman for an 88-yard touchdown pass to put the game out of reach.

Hoffman paced all receivers with seven receptions for 148 yards. Eleven different receivers had at least one reception in the game. Kuzdzal led all rushers with 105 yards on 14 carries, which included a 30-yard run in the third quarter.

Lowe logged two interceptions with one return yard along with a pass breakup for the Blue team. Sullivan had seven tackles, including one sack and two tackles for loss.

Hollenbeck downed three of five attempts inside the 20 while punting for both teams.
