The layer two platform Linea has teamed up with Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to offer developers a more secure and seamless environment for creating decentralized applications.
Linea, a layer two (L2) Ethereum network, has integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to provide developers with a secure and efficient environment for building decentralized applications (dapps). This collaboration aims to address challenges such as cross-chain security and scalability.
Linea Selects Chainlink’s CCIP for Secure Cross-Chain Capabilities
Linea, an L2 network designed to enhance Ethereum’s capabilities, recently announced its integration with Chainlink’s CCIP. This integration provides developers with access to a decentralized protocol for secure cross-chain communication and asset transfers. Linea highlighted CCIP’s focus on security, which is further strengthened by Chainlink’s Risk Management Network that monitors cross-chain activities to prevent malicious behavior.
“We are thrilled to integrate the industry-standard Chainlink CCIP, furthering our commitment to providing best-in-class infrastructure for our ecosystem developers,” said Declan Fox, head of product at Linea, in a statement.
The protocol boasts several capabilities, including secure and programmable token transfers across different blockchains. It also allows developers to transfer arbitrary data between smart contracts, facilitating more complex multi-chain operations. Linea noted that these features aim to enhance the user experience by increasing transaction scalability and reducing costs, all without compromising Ethereum’s inherent security.
This integration connects Linea to one of the largest ecosystems in blockchain, with Chainlink renowned for its reliable network and dedication to interoperability. Linea anticipates this move will not only expand its ecosystem but also foster innovation by empowering the development of cross-chain dapps. As of Oct. 8, data from defillama.com indicates that Linea’s total value locked (TVL) stands at approximately $448 million.
