Jack Dorsey Posts AI-Generated Video of Michael Saylor Morphing into XRP Coin, Sparking Speculation

A video clip of Michael Saylor shared by Jack Dorsey, the founder and former CEO of Twitter, has triggered speculation among XRP proponents.

Jack Dorsey Posts AI-Generated Video of Michael Saylor Morphing into XRP Coin, Sparking Speculation

A video clip shared by Jack Dorsey, the founder and former CEO of Twitter, has sparked speculation among XRP proponents.

The four-second AI-generated video, posted on Primal—a decentralized social platform built on the Nostr protocol—features MicroStrategy Chairman and Bitcoin advocate Michael Saylor.

For context, the clip initially shows Saylor with Bitcoin-themed visuals, including war-like regalia. However, as he jumps, the Bitcoin bull himself morphs into an XRP coin.

Speculation Over Jack Dorsey’s Intentions

Dorsey’s post has led to discussions about whether he believes Saylor might shift his allegiance from Bitcoin to XRP. The speculation comes at a time when tensions between Bitcoin maximalists and the XRP community have been rising.

Notably, Scott Melker suggested that XRP might secure a spot in a proposed digital asset reserve under President Donald Trump’s administration. Previously, many expected this reserve to contain only Bitcoin, making the possible inclusion of XRP controversial among Bitcoin supporters.

Mr. Intuitive, a well-known figure in the XRP community, was among the first to highlight the clip. Taking to X, he asked whether Dorsey had indeed shared a video of Saylor/BTC transforming into XRP on Nostr.

Interestingly, a quick check carried out by The Crypto Basic confirmed that the former Twitter CEO shared the video on Sunday, Feb. 2, and has kept it up at press time. Several XRP proponents believe this is important and could indicate a change in Dorsey’s opinion of XRP.

It bears mentioning that Dorsey has not made any public statements regarding XRP. While the Twitter founder is a strong advocate of decentralization and censorship resistance, he has only ever shown support for Bitcoin, often calling it the internet’s native currency.

Furthermore, Dorsey has also been vocal about his skepticism toward other crypto assets, including Ethereum, which he views as controlled by venture capitalists.

Attorney John Deaton Reacts

Meanwhile, Abdullah “Abs” Nassif, host of the Good Morning Crypto show, also highlighted the clip. He questioned whether Dorsey’s post showed a deeper message about Saylor’s stance on Bitcoin and XRP.

In response, pro-XRP attorney John Deaton suggested Dorsey’s post was not a positive endorsement of XRP. He noted that Dorsey has always been a staunch Bitcoin advocate and has dismissed other crypto assets as distractions.

Deaton pointed out that Dorsey has criticized Ethereum and Web3, arguing that they are controlled by centralized entities. He argued that the video was not a sign of support for XRP, asserting that Dorsey might be making a statement about Saylor.

Dorsey has repeatedly stated Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency he believes in. He’s called BTC the “native currency of the internet” and sees it as the best path toward a decentralized future and dismissed altcoins, implying they are unnecessary distractions from Bitcoin’s…

According to Deaton, the video could imply that Saylor is no different from XRP or Ripple, which he has previously criticized. For context, in an interview last year, Saylor confirmed that he would not recommend XRP as an investment to clients, arguing that there is a counterparty risk and implying that XRP is a security.
