IOTA Co-Founder Dominik Schiener Explains Why IOTA Is Better Than Solana (SOL) and Sui (SUI)

IOTA (CRYPTO: MIOTA) co-founder Dominik Schiener recently highlighted the platform’s focus on real-world adoption as one of the unique approaches to blockchain innovation. Schiener’s comments came in response to a viewer's question during a recent YouTube livestream.

When asked about the reasons to choose IOTA over Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) or Sui (CRYPTO: SUI), Schiener highlighted the importance of highlighting use cases that can be leveraged to drive utility and liquidity on IOTA. Schiener stated that while IOTA is technologically similar to Solana and SUI, the protocol’s unique approach to utility positions it as a top player in the blockchain space.

Schiener also noted the IOTA network’s contributions to regulatory matters, specifically highlighting the network’s efforts in pushing for clear crypto regulations as it expands into asset tokenization.

As reported by CNF, the IOTA Foundation engaged in discussions with industry leaders and European institutions regarding regulatory affairs. The discussions centered on bridging the gap between technology and regulation without stifling innovation.

In another recent development, IOTA was selected to join the second cohort of the European Blockchain Sandbox Initiative (EBSI), as reported by CNF. The protocol will play a key role in driving blockchain adoption in the region.

In his latest video, Schiener discussed how the IOTA network intends to bring its real-world adoption efforts on-chain. Schiener also mentioned plans for the protocol to compete with other networks like Solana and SUI by investing in builders, hackathons and grants.

Sui Network Rivaling Solana In L1 Race As Token Surges Over 100% In Two Months

Meanwhile, Sui has emerged as a potential competitor to Solana in the layer-1 blockchain space. K33 Research analyst David Zimmerman recently highlighted its potential to challenge Solana's dominance.

According to the analyst, Sui has outperformed Solana recently thanks to a sharp price increase. The native token of Sui surged against SOL with a 115% rally from August to September.

However, Zimmerman pointed out that some of Sui's recent gains may be attributed to market anomalies. Despite this, the price surge bodes well for Sui's growth.

Furthermore, Sui recorded a maximum theoretical transaction speed of 297,000 TPS, which is faster than Solana's 65,000 TPS.

At the time of writing, SUI trades at $3.38, up 2% in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, SOL trades at $214.74, up 2.13% in 24 hours. However, both tokens experienced a decrease in daily volume.

This compares to a 24-hour price increase of 3.78% for IOTA, which is trading at $0.1397.
