Inaugurating the cattle market at the Northern Bypass, Murtaza Wahab calls it a vibrant part of the city's culture.

Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated the famous cattle market at the Northern Bypass on Saturday, calling it a vibrant part of the city’s culture.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Murtaza Wahab said that the cattle market brings a festive atmosphere to Karachi with the arrival of the Islamic festival of Eid Qurban. He added that millions of animals are brought to the Karachi cattle market and traders from all over Pakistan flock to the site.

He noted that the market attracts a large number of visitors which poses traffic challenges but assured that efforts will be made to ease traffic issues for those visiting.

“We will try to adjust the timings of the market’s opening and closing to facilitate people coming from far and wide, and we will also try to keep the market open for a longer period of time,” the mayor said.

He also mentioned that night-time police patrolling will be made more effective. “The word ‘change’ has lost meaning; this is a year of improvement,” he said, emphasizing that large-scale trade will take place.

“We will try to make the market even better next year with the help of traders,” he added.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab said that this progress aligns with Bilawal Bhutto’s vision and expressed hope that traders would do good business at the market.

“May Allah grant leadership a success that benefits the people,” he said in his concluding remarks.

Moreover, Mayor Murtaza Wahab discussed Karachi’s pivotal role in the national economy.

“When Karachi runs, Pakistan runs,” he remarked, highlighting the city’s significant contribution to the country’s economic well-being.
