There is a classic type of mystery surrounding the coins that includes a great train robbery. But, it is hard to pinpoint who is behind this heist.

Hearties Are Not Impressed By WCTH Season 12 “Double Eagle” Mystery Storyline

Hearties are not impressed with the WCTH Season 12 “Double Eagle” mystery storyline. This storyline has dominated the season and revolves around a classic mystery involving coins and a grand train robbery. However, pinpointing the mastermind behind this heist proves to be a challenge.

Now, Melissa Gilbert's Georgie McGill visits Hope Valley to join forces with Jack Wagner's Bill Avery in unraveling this mystery. But, some Hearties are expressing their lack of interest in it. So, what exactly are they saying?

'Hearties Are Not Impressed By WCTH Double Eagle Coin Storyline'

One of the primary storylines in WCTH Season 12 is the mystery surrounding the Double Eagle coins. As the story unfolds over a few weeks, it is revealed that these coins are indeed rare coins, and the storyline ties them to a grand train robbery. While this era certainly saw its fair share of train robberies and heists, not all Hearties are overly impressed with this particular mystery storyline. The primary reason for this is that this storyline feels more American than Canadian.

Taking to Reddit, one Heartie pointed out, “Canada has never had a double-eagle gold coin. Canada’s first gold coins weren’t even minted until 1912, during the Klondike gold rush, and they were $5 and $10 denominations. The U.S. has had double-eagles, but not Canada. So was it common to use American coins in Canada early in the 20th century?”

After some discussion on whether American coins were brought into Canada, they wrote, “Is this just laziness on the part of the writers? And Bill keeps referring to a ‘great Canadian train robbery,’ but that was in 1904—before the supposed ‘double eagle’ coin in the show was ever made.”

Finally, the dissatisfied Heartie found it hard to believe that “coin aficionado” Ned Yost, didn't notice the coin when payment was being made for the hazelnuts.

How Did Other Hearties Respond?

What kind of responses did other WCTH fans have about this great train robbery double eagle storyline? Here are a few of those responses:
