Gujarat Titans win the toss and opt to bowl first

Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals are set to clash in the 10th match of the league at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, April 10. Ahead of the encounter, both captains spoke at the toss.

Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first against Delhi Capitals in the 10th match of the league at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, April 10. The two sides are set to renew their rivalry from last year.

After a blistering start to the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League, both Gujarat and Delhi will look to continue their momentum. Gujarat are coming off a seven-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday to register their third win of the season. They are currently placed third in the league table.

Delhi, on the other hand, defeated Mumbai Indians by 43 runs in their last outing to notch up their second victory. They are currently in fifth place with two wins and two losses from four games.

As both teams prepared for the encounter, the captains were in attendance for the toss. Gujarat skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to bowl first.

"We'll bowl first. It's very hot and the wicket looks very good. We are going with the same team. Anrich Nortje is still not available but hopefully, he will be back in the next ten days. Axar Patel and I chatted about it yesterday and we both agreed that it's best to keep the same team and not try to change things too early in the tournament. We are trying to take it one game at a time and not pay attention to what happened in the past," said Gill.

Meanwhile, Axar Patel revealed that Delhi Capitals would have preferred to field first. "We would have liked to field first. It's a good toss to lose because of the heat. The wicket looks good and I expect our batters to score well. We are working on the role clarity within the team. Fraser-McGurk is out today and we will look to see whom to use as the Impact Player."

Here are the full squads of both teams:

GUJARAT TITANS: Shubman Gill (captain), Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Rashid Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, Arshad Khan, R Sai Kishore, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma

DELHI CAPITALS: Abishek Porel, Karun Nair, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Axar Patel (captain), Tristan Stubbs, Ashutosh Sharma, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohit Sharma, Mukesh Kumar
