Ahmedabad, India - The Gujarat Titans (GT), reigning champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), have successfully transitioned from former captain Hardik Pandya to their current skipper, Shubman Gill, who has guided them to crucial victories over the illustrious Mumbai Indians (MI) and the free-scoring Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

In their match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the Titans were forced to make a strategic adjustment to their playing XI due to the absence of David Miller. At the coin toss, Gill announced the return of former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who would replace Miller.

"We would have bowled. It looks like an even wicket. It's been a bit overcast, so hopefully, there will be no dew. We have started off pretty well. We have got a couple of games on the road after this. Games on the road are important. Last year, we played away from home pretty well. Miller misses out due to a niggle, and Kane comes into the side," Gill stated.

Miller's absence was a significant blow for GT, considering his impressive performance in their victory over SRH. The South African batter had smashed 44 runs off 27 balls, guiding GT to a seven-wicket triumph. However, Williamson's inclusion brings experience and stability to the Titans' lineup.

Meanwhile, Punjab welcomed Sikandar Raza into their starting XI, replacing Liam Livingstone.

"We are gonna bowl first. I feel it's a good wicket, and it will stay the same. We will prefer chasing. In some of the games, the score has been very high, but it's not going to be that way every game because the teams are very good. I think we are playing decent cricket. It's early days in the tournament. We are going to play better. Livi goes out, and Sikandar Raza comes into the side," said Punjab skipper Shikhar Dhawan.
