Several Trump-themed memecoins rallied on Tuesday night, countering the overall downturn in political tokens. One token, Pepe ($TRUMP), surged by 91.4% in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, two other Trump-related memecoins also saw gains. MoonTrump ($TRUMP) climbed by 26.7%, extending a seven-day rally of 15.9%. Additionally, the FreeTrump ($TRUMP) token saw a 24.8% spike in the last day.

The gains by Trump-themed memecoins come as the crypto community awaits a formal announcement from Trump's children on their upcoming project. Earlier this year, the former president's two sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., announced that they are working on a "huge" decentralized finance (DeFi) project.

On Tuesday night, Eric took to X to build hype for the project, revealing that they are "almost ready" to make "some big announcement" regarding their digital asset-related initiative. He urged crypto users to join the project's Telegram group to stay updated on the latest developments.

In recent weeks, Trump has been discussing crypto in his speeches as he ramps up his campaign for the November elections. At a rally in Pennsylvania, just hours before the DNC kicked off, he highlighted the importance of the U.S. leading the crypto space or China and other emerging powers will ultimately capitalize on the opportunities offered by the industry.
