Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) to Review Candidate Designs for 2025 Coins and Medals Featuring DC Super Heroes Batman and Wonder Woman, and the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley Congressional Gold Medal

The Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee will meet virtually on Tuesday, Nov. 19, to review and discuss candidate designs for the 2025 coins and medals featuring DC Super Heroes Batman and Wonder Woman, as well as the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley Congressional Gold Medal.

The CCAC is tasked with advising the Secretary of the Treasury on themes and designs pertaining to all United States coins and medals.

Specifically, agenda topics for the CCAC meetings include reviewing and discussing candidate designs for:

The Comic Art Super Heroes coins and medals program highlights a U.S. Mint licensing partnership with DC Comics. This series will feature nine iconic superheroes on 24-karat gold coins, .999 fine silver medals, and non-precious metal clad medals. Launching in 2025 with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, the collection will continue through 2026 and 2027 with six additional superheroes. Designs for the Superman coin and medals have already been recommended.

The Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley medal, authorized by Public Law 117-334, honors Emmett Till, who was brutally murdered at 14 in 1955 after being accused of offending a white woman in her family’s grocery store. The medal also recognizes his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, for her courage and relentless pursuit of justice in a case that became a catalyst for the civil rights movement. The CCAC previously reviewed proposed medal designs in April and requested a second portfolio for further review.
