No Charles Hoskinson at the White House Crypto Summit Despite Trump's ADA Mention

Mar 06, 2025 at 07:30 pm

Growing anticipation for the White House Crypto Summit, scheduled for March 7, 2025, is palpable in the crypto market.

No Charles Hoskinson at the White House Crypto Summit Despite Trump's ADA Mention

Anticipation is running high in the crypto market ahead of the highly anticipated White House Crypto Summit, set for March 7. The summit, poised to be a pivotal event in the unfolding saga of U.S. crypto policy, has sparked questions as Cardano's co-founder, Charles Hoskinson, is notably absent from the list of invitees.

A White House source confirmed to Unchained that Charles Hoskinson and the Cardano team will not be participating in the summit's discussions.

The source further clarified that Cardano has not been involved in policy talks or meetings with the administration. A White House source mentioned that Cardano is actively promoting its position but is not involved in efforts to influence policy, nor was it invited to the summit on Friday.

Trump’s ADA Mention Contrasts Hoskinson’s Summit Exclusion

Hoskinson's absence is surprising given recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump. On Sunday, Trump acknowledged the ADA token as part of a possible U.S. crypto reserve, fueling speculation that Hoskinson would play a role in the summit. However, Hoskinson's name is missing from the official list of attendees.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump outlined plans for a U.S. crypto reserve, including ADA alongside other digital assets like XRP and Solana. This has led to widespread speculation that Hoskinson's absence may be due to political dynamics.

VIP Dinner Doesn’t Translate to Summit Invite

While Hoskinson had previously scheduled a VIP dinner associated with the summit, the shift in timing and his other commitments have raised questions about his role in the event.

Despite Hoskinson's absence, several prominent figures in the crypto market are confirmed to attend the event. Key individuals like Michael Saylor, Bitcoin Inc. CEO David Bailey, Paradigm founder Matt Huang, and Kraken CEO Arjun Sethi are confirmed.

Other names include Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, and Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev. These individuals are expected to engage in discussions that could shape future U.S. crypto policy.

According to updates provided by Eleanor Terrett, the event will run from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM on Friday, March 7.
